Mariam Janahi, a passionate coach, speaker, and trainer, is Founder and Managing Director of Mahara Consulting W.L.L., a management consulting firm, dedicated to organizational and people development. She is also a Resident Organizational Consultant in Human Resources and Communications for the Zain Group.

Ms Janahi’s work is conducted in both Arabic and English. She is not only dedicated to building, improving and sustaining organizational success with her clients, she also works tirelessly in the community to help educate and train students for their future careers.

Special Projects and Contributions

  • In 1995, Ms. Janahi became a top management executive of BATELCO, marking an historic event as the first woman General Manager in the private sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
  • Ms. Janahi managed the project “Women Political Empowerment” which she executed for the Supreme Council for Women and the UNDP. This cutting-edge project aimed at changing the stereotypical view of women and their role in society. In addition, the project facilitated change in Bahrain’s society by enhancing Bahraini women’s drive for participation in public life.
  • Ms Janahi participated in the start up of Zain Bahrain and provided input for all the HR policies, procedures and compensation processes. Following this successful start-up, she worked with most of the Zain operations in the Middle East and Africa using the Zain Bahrain start-up as a model that was adapted to meet local needs.   • A highly sought-after guest speaker at universities, educational institutes and conferences, Ms. Janahi delivers powerfully motivational and timeless talks on everything from Human Resource management to career development and community and team building.
    Ms. Janahi holds a Master’s degree in education from the University of Sheffield, a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Bristol University, United Kingdom, in addition to memberships in several international associations.
